Chilly Drizzle Did Not Keep the Riders Away

Test ride event on Saturday (17th) at Fung-Kwei-Juei (風櫃嘴) was affected by low temperature and rain in Taipei.  The crowd was smaller than expected.  However, there were still about 40 of them who came to the event.

The participants tested all Rikulau bikes, including a prototype 931 cyclocross bike, and Orbit Design wheelsets. Four hours of event flew by with un-interrupted test riding and hot discussion on the products.  Fortunately, it was 40 riders instead of 100 that would have shown up.

Rikulau’s 953, 853 and titanium products were more familiar to them.  Test riding confirm them of quality and performance of these products.  Rikulau’s 931, being a new product in the market, was still alien to many.  However, thumbs up were given to 931 after test riding.  The riders were surprised how a stainless steel frame could overcome the weight limitation and reach a balance between weight and performance.

Proton and Baryon wheelsets from Orbit Design, on the other hand, were the center of attention.  Most of the participants who test rode the wheels were astonished by the superb smoothness and stiffness comparable to the best products world-known brands could provide.

For those who missed the boat, next test ride is just around the corner on January 7th, 2012.  But, it will be in the other end of Taiwan.  See you in Kenting at Blue Devil Invitational Ride!
